Als immer wieder neu und anders aufgestellte Working Band ist Perfektomat das ideale Experimentierlabor für den Bassisten Joscha Oetz.

Die Trio-Edition mit Laura Robles und Pianist Norman Peplow entfachte ein „Freudenfeuer an vorwärtsweisendem, mitreißendem Jazz“, war zu lesen, und auch die Quartett-Ausgabe mit Niels Klein, Simon Nabatov und diversen illustren Gästen begeisterte: „So konsequent wie dieses Quartett hat schon seit längerem keine Formation mehr den akustischen Jazz für sich mit einem eigenen, durchdachten Stil definiert”, schrieb Werner Stiefele. Das Album Perfektomat (Klaeng records 2015) war für den Vierteljahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik nominiert.
So groovend, so entspannt und so komplex kann es weitergehen, und doch bleibt nichts wie es ist: Perfektomat trifft auf Retrogott, Jazz auf HipHop, Rhythmus auf Riddim, Beats und deutschen Sprechgesang. Wo soll das nur hinführen? Mit Sicherheit zu einer aufregenden Herausforderung und zu einer neuen Facette im schillernden Perfektomat-Kaleidoskop.

As a constantly new and different working band, Perfektomat is the ideal experimental laboratory for bassist Joscha Oetz.
The trio edition with Laura Robles and pianist Norman Peplow ignited a „bonfire of forward-looking, rousing jazz„, it was read, and the quartet edition with Niels Klein, Simon Nabatov and various illustrious guests was also enthusiastic: „No formation has defined acoustic jazz for itself with its own, well thought-out style as consistently as this quartet has for a long time„, wrote Werner Stiefele. The album Perfektomat (Klaeng records 2015) was nominated for the Quarterly Prize of the German Record Critics.
It can go on as groovy, as relaxed and as complex, and yet nothing remains as it is: Perfektomat meets Retrogott, jazz meets hip hop, rhythm meets riddim, beats and German spoken word. Where will this lead? Certainly to an exciting challenge and a new facet in the dazzling Perfektomat kaleidoscope.
