In ihrem 15. Lebensjahr war Luise Volkmann ein Teil des kleinsten autonomen Zentrums Deutschlands: Dem JZO Oerlinghausen. Die Punks boten auf dem Lippischen Land die einzige interessante kulturelle Arbeit: sie organisierten Konzerte, Themenabende oder Poetry-Slams. Die Musik stand als Ausdruck eines Lebensgefühls und politischer Gesinnung im Zentrum der Gemeinschaft – Musik mit einer mitreißenden Dringlichkeit.
Immer schon empfand Volkmann, dass Punk und Free Jazz artverwandt sind. In Dringlichkeit, politischer Aussage und dem sozialen Drumherum der Musik. So entstand ihr neues Punk-Jazz-Projekt mit Fanny Lasfargues (Bass), Oliver Steidle (Schlagzeug) und Alwin Weber (Elektronik). Bei diesem energetischen Repertoire spielen die Musiker*innen zusätzlich zu ihren Instrumenten Noise Toys. Diese von dem Dresdner Elektronik-Künstler Alwin Weber gelöteten Instrumente bringen den nötigen DIY-Klang (Do It Yourself) der Punks in die instrumentale Jazzwelt.
Verquere Kompositionen, energetisches Spiel und Noise-Instrumente machen das neue Punk-Jazz-Projekt zu einer einzigartigen künstlerischen Recherche.

When she was 15, Luise Volkmann was part of the smallest autonomous centre in Germany: the JZO Oerlinghausen. The punks offered the only interesting cultural work in the Lippe countryside: they organised concerts, theme evenings and poetry slams. Music was at the centre of the community as an expression of an attitude to life and political convictions – music with a rousing urgency.
Volkmann has always felt that punk and free jazz are related. In urgency, political statement and the social trappings of the music. This is how her new punk jazz project with Fanny Lasfargues (bass), Oliver Steidle (drums) and Alwin Weber (electronics) came about. In this energetic repertoire, the musicians play noise toys in addition to their instruments. These instruments, soldered by Dresden electronic artist Alwin Weber, bring the necessary DIY sound (Do It Yourself) of the punks into the instrumental jazz world.
The new punk-jazz project is a unique artistic exploration thanks to its strange compositions, energetic playing and noise instruments.
