Unter dem Titel TRISTANOS TRAUM hat Frank Wunsch 2021 mit seinem Ensemble ein Programm eingespielt, das zunächst digital bei LAIKA erschienen und jetzt auch als CD erhältlich ist.
Inzwischen haben sich die Besetzung und auch das Repertoire des Frank-Wunsch-Ensembles leicht verändert. Der Pianist, der am 29. August 2025 80 Jahre alt wird, steuert eigene Kompositionen, die durch singbare Melodik gekennzeichnet sind, sowie Bearbeitungen von Standards bei. Das Titelstück schliesslich bietet ausgiebig Gelegenheit zur freien Improvisation in diversen Besetzungen. Auch eine Volksliedbearbeitung sowie die Adaption eines Tanzes von Schubert haben ihren Platz in einem abwechslungsreichen Programm.
Nach dem Konzert am späten Samstagnachmittag (Konzertbeginn bereits um 17 Uhr!!!) wird es reichlich Gelegenheit geben, dem Jubilar zu gratulieren und – auch nachträglich – auf ihn anzustoßen.

Under the title TRISTANOS TRAUM, Frank Wunsch recorded a program with his ensemble in 2021, which was initially released digitally by LAIKA and is now also available on CD.
In the meantime, the line-up and repertoire of the Frank Wunsch Ensemble have changed slightly. The pianist, who will turn 80 years old on the 29th of August 2025, contributes his own compositions, which are characterized by singable melodies, as well as arrangements of standards. Finally, the title piece offers ample opportunity for free improvisation in various instrumentations. A folk song arrangement and an adaptation of a dance by Schubert also have their place in a varied program.
After the concert late on Saturday afternoon (the concert will start already at 5pm CEST), there will be ample opportunity to congratulate the jubilarian and – even afterwards – to toast him.
