Eine Ode von Matti an Köln und Stockholm, jedes Musikstück eine liebevolle und persönliche Widmung an seine Heimat(en) der letzten Jahre. Seine Studienzeit hier neigt sich dem Ende zu, und es ist an der Zeit Danke zu sagen. Die Musik spiegelt die Jahre wider, die er in zwei unvergleichbaren Städten verbracht hat, voller Entfaltung, Entdeckung und Freundschaft.
Zusammen mit seinem Ensemble spielt er Stücke für die Orte, die Freundschaften und Familie, die das Wort Heimat ausmachen. Für seine Mentor*innen, die ihn an unnachgiebige Erfinder erinnern. Und für die Menschen, die zuhören.
Die Suche gilt einer Musik, die Improvisation und Komposition auf gleiche Ebene stellt, jenseits von Solopassagen; eine Musik, die Spontaneität zulässt und Mitgestaltung einfordert – jeder Einzelne soll auf seine persönliche Weise Teil der Kompositionen werden.

An ode from Matti to Cologne and Stockholm, each piece of music a dear and personal dedication to his home(s) over the last few years. His time studying here is coming to an end, and it’s time to say thank you. The music reflects the years he has spent in two incomparable cities, full of development, discovery and friendship.
Together with his ensemble, he plays pieces for the places, friendships and family that make up the word home. For his mentors, who remind him of relentless inventors. And for the people who listen.
A Search for music that places improvisation and composition on the same level, that goes beyond solo passages; a music that allows spontaneity and demands participation – each individual should become part of the compositions in their own personal way.

I look forward to summarising the time here with some of my closest companions by my side.
