Vitalii Kyianytsia, Tom Berkmann, Mathias Ruppnig, Trio, LFOT, Last Days of Spring

Das neu gegründete Internationale Trio aus Berlin präsentiert Stücke aus debut Album Last Day of Spring.

Der ukrainische Pianist Vitalii Kyianytsia weiß auf seinem Debütalbum Last Day of Spring zu überzeugen. & D. I.D. stammt von Bassist Johannes Fink.

Jazz’n More, 01-7-2022

… This is jazz trio art without hypertrophy of a musical know how or ability, but simply the finest form of chamber music interaction between “freedom and structure” on the field of this traditional music of piano, bass and drums…

The newly formed International Trio from Berlin presents pieces from debut album Last Day of Spring. The trio characterizes itself as “technically excellent and explosive“.

On his debut album Last Day of Spring, Ukrainian pianist Vitalii Kyianytsia knows how to convince.  With seven original compositions, the pianist composed the lion’s share of the repertoire, drummer Mathias Ruppnig contributed the fast-paced Stranger Than Fiction, and the number with the mysterious title S. O.M. & D. I.D. comes from bassist Johannes Fink.
The balance between freedom and structure is superbly maintained in this trio: Kyianytsia pieces impress with their harmonic sophistication and opulent melodies.
The only “foreign” composition is one of the famous Gnossiennes penned by French composer Erik Satie.
“Satie is one of my favorite composers […] I chose a 7 / 8 time signature, but the original piece has a rather unconventional structure. I wanted to push the rhythmic structure to its limits, and there’s even an improvised part in the middle.” VK
