Triomusik ist wie ein Gespräch im kleinen Kreis.
Es geht nicht vordergründig um die Suche nach Konsens, dem Rufen gemeinsamer Parolen. Der Reiz liegt im beschaulichen Wechselgespräch; hier wird Persönliches gesagt, werden eigene Wahrheiten preisgegeben, vertrauensvolle Geständnisse gemacht. Dabei drängt es sich beim Zuhören wie selbstverständlich auf, in dieses Klanggespräch die eigene Geschichte mit hinein zu phantasieren und selbst mit zu fiebern. So wird die Musik im kleinen Kreis der Musikanten zu einer besonderen Einladung.
Stilistisch hat sich die Musik des Klever Pianisten Stefan Schöler über die Jahre von Neo-Bop hin zu klassischem Modernjazz entwickelt: Eine Musik die sich zwar beruft auf traditionelle Improvisationstechniken aus Swing und Bebop, jedoch nicht verzichtet auf die Errungenschaften der Modal- und Modernjazz-Improvisation. Schöler studierte bei Sharon Anderson, Rob van den Broeck, später bei u. a. John Tayler, Carla Bley und Steve Swallow. Vor zwei Jahren ergab sich die Zusammenarbeit mit Lukas Keller und Simon Bräumer. Mit Fernseh- und Radioauftritten für WDR und ARD, Auftritten in renommierten Clubs und zu Festivals in Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Schweden und Dänemark, dem Release des zweiten Albums „Wiedersehen“ bei Unit Records, der Zusammenarbeit mit David Friedman (Vibraphon) am Tübinger Conversations Festival konnte das Trio die Dinge voran bringen. Im Herbst 2024 kommt das nächste Album heraus bei Double Moon Records.

Trio music is like a conversation in a small circle.
It is not primarily about the search for consensus, the shouting of common slogans. The attraction lies in the contemplative exchange; personal things are said here, personal truths are revealed, trusting confessions are made. As you listen, it is natural to fantasize your own story into this sound conversation and to join in the excitement. In this way, the music in the small circle of musicians becomes a special invitation.
Stylistically, the music of Kleve pianist Stefan Schöler has developed over the years from neo-bop to classic modern jazz: A music that draws on traditional improvisation techniques from swing and bebop, but does not renounce the achievements of modal and modern jazz improvisation. Schöler studied with Sharon Anderson and Rob van den Broeck, and later with John Tayler, Carla Bley and Steve Swallow, among others. Two years ago, he began working with Lukas Keller and Simon Bräumer. With television and radio appearances for WDR and ARD, performances in renowned clubs and at festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark, the release of the second album „Wiedersehen“ on Unit Records, the collaboration with David Friedman (vibraphone) at the Tübingen Conversations Festival, the trio was able to take things further. The next album will be released in fall 2024 on Double Moon Records.
