Der Saxophonist Leonhard Huhn erforscht die Welt des Duos.
In einer Serie von Konzerten unter dem Titel „Left half of brain in orbit“ wird er unterschiedliche Besetzungen präsentieren. Ähnlich Umlaufbahnen von Himmelskörpern werden sich dabei umkreisen, Akustik und Elektronik, Präparation und herkömmliches Spiel, Phantasie und Form verweben. Leonhard Huhn begibt sich mit Saxophon und Modular Synthesizer auf die Suche nach dem alten Licht der Sterne und kosmischen Strahlungen und Sonderbarem.

An diesem ersten Abend kommt die belgische Pianistin und Improvisatorin Anaïs Tuerlinckx zu Besuch. Mit ihrem experimentellen Ansatz startet sie ihre Klangreisen vom Kern des Instruments, dem Rahmen und seinen Saiten. Ihr Spiel hat seine Wurzeln in der freien Improvisation und wird von verschiedenen Ästhetiken inspiriert, die durch zeitgenössische Musik, freien Jazz, Noise und elektroakustische Musik führen. Sie vertraut auf ihre Intuition, eine intime Beziehung zum Klavierrahmen und lässt ihre Hände und ihren Körper mit den Saiten tanzen.

Saxophonist Leonhard Huhn explores the world of the duo.
In a series of concerts entitled “Left half of brain in orbit”, he will present different line-ups. Similar to the orbits of celestial bodies, acoustics and electronics, preparation and conventional playing, fantasy and form will orbit and interweave. With saxophone and modular synthesizer, Leonhard Huhn embarks on a search for the ancient light of the stars, cosmic radiation and the strange.

On this first evening, Belgian pianist and improviser Anaïs Tuerlinckx will be visiting us. With her experimental approach, she starts her sound journeys from the core of the instrument, the frame and its strings. Her playing has its roots in free improvisation and is inspired by different aesthetics that lead through contemporary music, free jazz, noise and electro-acoustic music. She relies on her intuition, an intimate relationship with the piano frame and lets her hands and body dance with the strings.
