Dicke Luft, Kölns einzig wahres Blasorchester, startet im Frühling im LOFT in sein Konzertjahr, und freut sich sehr darauf.
Das war im vergangenen Jahr genauso. Aber anders als vor einem Jahr weiß das Orchester jetzt, dass das kleine LOFT genug Platz bietet: für zwei Dutzend Orchestermitglieder, den wunderbaren Steinway und das Publikum.
Tiefenentspannt und voller Vertrauen, dass es logistisch klappt, wagt sich Dicke Luft auf neues Terrain. Vor wenigen Monaten hat das Orchester begonnen, im LOFT an einer neuen CD und einer LP zu arbeiten. Erste Resultate werden das Programm bereichern.
Auf das Publikum warten Filmmusik, Miles und Trane, Rock, Bonnen, Hanschel, Zappa, Klassik und Weltmusik. Grenzen der Ästhetik oder Genres werden seit über 40 Jahren – so lange gibt es Dicke Luft – ignoriert. Immer wieder überraschen Rezitationen oder Gesang. Und nur weil ein Maxi-Makro-Klangkörper dasteht, heißt das nicht, dass alle ständig spielen müssen. Manchmal genügt ein Quartett.
Dicke Luft im LOFT bringt ganz viel Musik, Farben, Gedanken und Artverwandtes.

Dicke Luft, Cologne’s only true wind orchestra, starts its concert year in the LOFT in spring and is very much looking forward to it.
It was the same last year. But unlike a year ago, the orchestra now knows that the small LOFT offers enough space: for two dozen orchestra members, the wonderful Steinway and the audience.
Deeply relaxed and full of confidence that things will work out logistically, Dicke Luft is venturing into new territory. A few months ago, the orchestra began working on a new CD and an LP in the LOFT. The first results will enrich the program.
Film music, Miles and Trane, rock, Bonnen, Hanschel, Zappa, classical and world music await the audience. Boundaries of aesthetics or genres have been ignored for over 40 years – that’s how long Dicke Luft has been around. Recitations and vocals are always a surprise. And just because there is a maxi-macro ensemble doesn’t mean that everyone has to play all the time. Sometimes a quartet is enough.
Dicke Luft at the LOFT brings a lot of music, colors, thoughts and the like.
