Dieses Duo-Projekt vereint den Bassisten und Komponisten Almog Sharvit und den Sänger und Gitarristen Ambrose Getz, die ein Konzert mit intimer, kompositionsorientierter Musik für Gesang, Gitarre und Bass präsentieren.
Die Musik von Almog und Ambrose schöpft gleichermaßen aus textorientiertem Songwriting und Improvisation, und spiegelt eine lange gemeinsame Geschichte wider, die von der Co-Produktion von Ambroses Album Great House of Embers bis hin zu gemeinsamen Tourneen durch die USA reicht.
Indem sie bestehendes Material überarbeiten und neues Repertoire für dieses reduzierte Format entwickeln, schafft das Duo Musik, die sich durch aufmerksames Zuhören und zurückhaltende emotionale Tiefe auszeichnet.

Ambrose Getz ist eine Sängerin und Gitarristin, die ursprünglich aus dem Stadtteil Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco stammt und derzeit in Brooklyn, New York, lebt. Ihre Musik verbindet den experimentierfreudigen Geist des Jazz mit der Erzählkunst der Folkmusik und zeichnet sich durch innovative harmonische Lösungen sowie bildhafte Texte aus, die von Musikerinnen wie Joni Mitchell und Becca Stevens beeinflusst sind. Ambrose tritt regelmäßig in und um NYC an Veranstaltungsorten wie dem Lincoln Center und dem Sultan Room auf und hat sowohl in den Vereinigten Staaten als auch international in Deutschland, Frankreich und Spanien mit Lisa Hoppes Third Reality – die zweimal für den Deutschen Jazzpreis nominiert war – sowie mit Gruppen wie Ashni, Almog Sharvits Coralition und dem Noah Rott Quartet gespielt.

Zu den Festival-Highlights zählen Auftritte beim Monterey Jazz Festival, dem Detroit Jazz Festival, dem Smithsonian Folkways Festival, dem Bern Jazz Festival (Schweiz), der Jazzmeile Thüringen (Deutschland) und vielen anderen.
Sein bevorstehendes zweites Album, das marokkanische, nahöstliche, Jazz- und elektronische Einflüsse miteinander verwebt, wird 2027 erscheinen.

This duo project brings together bassist-composer Almog Sharvit and singer-guitarist Ambrose Getz performing a body of intimate, composition-driven music for voice, guitar, and bass.
The work exists at the intersection of folk song and jazz, drawing equally from lyric-centered songwriting and improvisation. Almog and Ambrose’s music reflects a deep collaborative history, from co-producing Ambrose’s album Great House of Embers to touring together across the U.S.
Reworking existing material and developing new repertoire for this stripped-down format, the duo creates music marked by close listening and understated emotional depth.

Ambrose Getz is a singer and guitarist originally from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury and currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Her music combines the exploratory spirit of jazz with the storytelling of folk music, rooted in innovative harmonic choices and evocative lyrics influenced by musicians such as Joni Mitchell and Becca Stevens.
