Die gebürtige niederländische Jazz-Komponistin und Flötistin Jorik Bergman (*1996) lebt seit vielen Jahren in Köln. Die Stücke, die Jorik für das Trio geschrieben hat, sind etwas ungewöhnlicher zu betrachten, was durch die Verwendung der Jazzflöte im Trio-Kontext noch einzigartiger wird.
Mit ihrer Musik gibt Jorik, jedem im Trio eine gleichberechtigte Position, indem sie die regulären Rollen der Instrumente herausfordert und mit verschiedenen Spielweisen des Jazz experimentiert. Im Vordergund steht die improvisierte Musik, welche zwischen den komponierten Noten auf dem Papier und dem persönlichen Klang und der Stimme aller Musiker*innen schwebt.

Jazz composer and flutist Jorik Bergman (*1996) was born and raised in the Netherlands, hand has lived in Cologne for many years now. The pieces Jorik has written for the trio can be considered a bit more unusual, made even more unique by the use of the jazz flute in the trio context.
With her music, Jorik, gives everyone in the trio an equal position, challenging the regular roles of the instruments and experimenting with different ways of playing jazz. The focus is on improvised music, which hovers between the composed notes on paper and the personal sound and voice of each musician.
