Jeff Gardner wurde in 1953 New York geboren. Er studierte Jazz bei Jaki Byard, Charles Banacos, Don Friedman und John Lewis, klassisches Klavier bei Ruth Schontal und Ivan Tcherepnin sowie Harmonielehre bei Nadia Boulanger.
Er trat mit Kenny Wheeler, Gary Peacock, Norma Winstone, Rick Margitza, Rosana Eckert, Eddie Harris, Steve Lacy, Freddie Hubbard, Bob Sheppard, Paulo Moura, Dori Caymmi, Nelson Veras, Leny Andrade, Toninho Horta, Drew Gress, Anthony Pinciotti und dem Klavierquartett mit Martial Solal, Jaki Byard und Paul Bley auf.
Jeff hat mit seiner eigenen Band und als Solokünstler in Clubs und auf Festivals auf fünf Kontinenten gespielt und seine Kompositionen – eine Mischung aus brasilianischen und lateinamerikanischen Rhythmen mit Jazz und zeitgenössischer klassischer Musik – aufgeführt.
Jeff hat 20 CD’s als Leader veröffentlicht. Seine neuesten Veröffentlichungen sind ein Duo mit dem brasilianischen Vibraphonisten Arthur Dutra und die Kompilations-CD „Stories„.

Jeff Gardner was born in New York in 1953. He studied jazz with Jaki Byard, Charles Banacos, Don Friedman, and John Lewis, classical piano with Ruth Schontal and Ivan Tcherepnin, and harmony with Nadia Boulanger.
He has performed with Kenny Wheeler, Gary Peacock, Norma Winstone, Rick Margitza, Rosana Eckert, EddieHarris, Steve Lacy, Freddie Hubbard, Bob Sheppard, Paulo Moura, Dori Caymmi, Nelson Veras, Leny Andrade, Toninho Horta, Drew Gress, Anthony Pinciotti, and the Piano Quartet with Martial Solal, Jaki Byard, and Paul Bley.
Jeff has played in clubs and festivals on five continents with his own band and as a solo artist, performing his compositions – a mix of Brazilian and Latin rhythms with jazz and contemporary classical music.
Jeff has released 20 CD’s as a leader. His latest releases are a duo with Brazilian vibes player Arthur Dutra and the compilation CD “Stories„.
