Phillip Golub (b. 1993) is a pianist, improviser, and composer from Los Angeles who now lives in Brooklyn. His music is rooted in jazz, creative music, and contemporary music, without being confined by these categories. He bridges such disparate sonic worlds as those of Thelonious Monk and Alexander Scriabin, or Ars subtilior and Cecil Taylor. For his debut as a bandleader, Abiding Memory, he was nominated for International Newcomer of the Year at the German Jazz Prize in 2025.
