Initiator Sebastian Räther entschloss sich\, sowohl kompositorisch für ein akustisches Ensemble zu schreiben\, welches sich die Wärme und Lebendigkeit akustischer Instrumente zu nutze macht\, als auch elektronisch Generiertes und Bearbeitetes miteinander zu kombinieren. Es entstand X-Bits : Treibsand. \nDie Musiker*innen des Ensembles Treibsand zählen alle zu herausragenden künstlerischen Persönlichkeiten ihres Faches. Ihr musikalisches Ansehen reicht weit über die Grenzen Kölns hinaus. Jahr für Jahr kümmeren sie ich um eigene Projekte und eine Vielzahl von musikalischen Begegnungen. \nIn den Kompositionen werden die Grenzen kultureller Ballungszentren aufgeweicht und Verschmelzungen klassischer\, jazz- und weltmusikalischer Elemente entstehen. Rhythmische und tonale Anlehnungen an und Assoziationen mit Arabischem\, Afrikanischem\, Nord- und Südamerikanischem sind erwünscht. Initiator Sebastian Räther decided to write compositions for an acoustic ensemble that utilize the warmth and liveliness of acoustic instruments\, as well as to combine electronically generated and processed sounds. The result was X-Bits : Treibsand.\nThe musicians of the ensemble Treibsand are all outstanding artistic personalities in their field. Their musical reputation extends far beyond the borders of Cologne. Year after year\, they take care of their own projects and a multitude of musical encounters.\nIn their compositions\, the boundaries of cultural conurbations are blurred and fusions of classical\, jazz and world music elements are created. Rhythmic and tonal references to and associations with Arabic\, African\, North and South American music are encouraged.
