Im Jahr 2022 verbrachte Rosenthal ein Studienjahr in Köln\, wo ein Großteil der Kompositionen zum Debüt-Release LÜFPYRÜN entstanden sind. Das im Januar 2024 veröffentlichte Album bringt im Zeitgeist von Modern Creative Jazz einen neugierigen Quartett-Sound mit\, der innovative und traditionelle Perspektiven vereint.\nVon kletternden Eichhörnchen im Innenhof\, über die Teuerung von Pesto im Supermarkt\, bis hin zu nostalgischen Stimmungen im Park schöpfen Rosenthals Kompositionen ihre Inspiration aus den unterschiedlichsten Eindrücken. So hat beispielsweise der Titel des Albums seinen Ursprung in einer Wortkreation aus Rosenthals Kindheit.\nZusammen mit den drei in Köln lebenden Musikern Adrian Gallet\, Daniel Oetz Salcines und Mathieu Clement entwickelte Wanja Rosenthal einen akustisch orientierten Bandsound mit eigenständigem Charakter. Gespielt werden Kompositionen\, die im Einklang mit der klein gehaltenen Besetzung des Ensembles stehen. So glänzt das Ensemble in Momenten von atmosphärischer Gestalt\, wo jedem Klang der notwendige Raum gegeben wird. In 2022\, Rosenthal spent a year studying in Cologne\, where most of the compositions for his debut release LÜFPYRÜN were written. Released in January 2024\, the album brings a curious quartet sound in the spirit of modern creative jazz\, combining innovative and traditional perspectives.\nFrom climbing squirrels in the courtyard\, to pesto in the supermarket\, to nostalgic moods in the park\, Rosenthal’s compositions draw their inspiration from a wide variety of impressions. The title of the album\, for example\, has its origins in a word from Rosenthal’s childhood.\nTogether with the three Cologne-based musicians Adrian Gallet\, Daniel Oetz Salcines and Mathieu Clement\, Wanja Rosenthal has developed an acoustically oriented band sound with an independent character. They play compositions that are in harmony with the small size of the ensemble. The ensemble shines in moments of atmospheric form\, where every sound is given the necessary space. The band also provides the right amount of energy in pieces with a more animated temperament thanks to their skillful interplay. \n
