DESCRIPTION:Scott Fields – Guitar\nRobert Jarvis – Trombone\nMatthias Schubert – Saxophone\n\nEckard Vossas – Synthesizer\, Electronics\, Continuum Fingerboard\, Kelstone \n\n“Spontan\, expressiv\, energiegeladen\, impulsiv\, elektroakustisch\, mit Soundmaterie experimentierend\, Spiel mit Momenten sich transformierender Klangkombinationen.” \n\n\n\n\n\nDieses Konzert setzt ein 2015 begonnenes Projekt fort\, das die Idee verfolgt\, sich auf den Kosmos des Klangs und seiner spektralen Transformationen sinnlich einzulassen. In wechselnden Konstellationen loten die vier Musiker das Potential von Naturklang und elektronisch bearbeiteten oder synthetisierten Sounds aus\, vor allem wenn die so verschieden erzeugten Schwingungen in Beziehung zueinander treten. Diese überwiegend frei improvisierte Kammermusik führt zu spannender\, intensiver Interaktion\, organisch\, expressiv\, manchmal wild\, auf der Suche nach der Poesie des Klangs.\n\n\nBesonders erfreulich ist es\, den Ausnahmeposaunisten Robert Jarvis aus England\, der immer schon ein Faible für den Einsatz elektronischer Transformationen hatte\, nach 2015 erneut im LOFT präsentieren zu können. Neben seinem kompositorischen Werk musiziert Robert Jarvis in einer Vielzahl von Formationen\, darunter dem London Improvisers’ Orchestra\, Tongues of Fire und dem holländischen NDIO project. \n\n\n\nRobert Jarvis is one of the UK’s most exciting trombone players\, and both an exponent of the Canterbury Sound and the London avant-garde scene.  His wide-ranging musical vocabulary and powerful sound has the capability to transport his listeners on a variety of acoustic adventures. \n“Jarvis slices and dices through time and space via a compositional approach brimming with memorable interludes\, concisely stated melodies\, abrupt tempo changes and dashes of subtle EFX.” Glenn Astarita – All About Jazz \n\n\nSpontaneous\, expressive\, energetic\, impulsive\, the ‘Underground of Invention’ experiment with sound matter and moments of transformational sound combinations. \nRobert Jarvis and Eckard Vossas\, both known to the Kyma community for many years\, are returning to perform at ‘The Loft’ as part of Vossas’  ‘Underground of Invention’ project.  The concert continues from their first visit two years previous\, and features Scott Fields on guitar\, Robert Jarvis: trombone\, Matthias Schubert: saxophone\, and Eckard Vossas on Kyma\, Continuum\, and Kelstone). \nThe highlight of the evening will be a reworking of Vossas’ immersive Kyma-powered ‘Changing Constellations’ composition\, where the four musicians are conducted and their sounds processed by a Kyma timeline that explores the twilight world between natural sound potential and electronic manipulations: in solo instrument language as well as the vibrating relations between the different instruments\, pushing the boundaries of the ensemble’s tonal versatility. \nExpect an evening of exciting\, intensive interaction\, organic musical structures\, expressive\, sometimes wild ensemble playing\, and four-dimensional sonic textures\, with the overall aim of exploring the resonating beauty of sound.
