Es verbindet sowohl freie Improvisation als auch komplexen Jazz und klassische Avantgarde mit Popmusik. Das Projekt selbst wurde im Februar 2020 ins Leben gerufen\, und existiert seither in verschiedenen Formaten und Besetzungen\, und hat zwei Alben auf Double Moon Records veröffentlicht:\nLäuterung (2022) mit: Ganna Gryniva\, Erik Leuthäuser\, Omri Abramov\, Toms Rudzinskis\nFreaky Squash Baby (2023) mit: Kiki Manders\, Mirna Bogadanovic\, Erik Leuthäuser\, Oli Steidle\, Taiko Saito\, Rieko Okuda\, Philipp Gropper\, Jasper Stadhouders und einigen anderen.\nTRYON trat bereits beim Nordhausen Jazzfestival\, JazzamKaisersteg Openair\, Jazzexzess\, Ponava Festival\, Freakshow Artrock Festival\, Donau115 und vielen anderen Veranstaltungen im In- und Ausland auf. \nhttps://tryonband.com/ \n\nPresse: \n“Keine leichte Kost\, aber es lohnt sich\, den Klangkosmos von TRYON zu erkunden – spannend\, anspruchsvoll\, schön!”\nEr Em Online \n“Er wuchs mit der Musik von Frank Zappa auf\, entdeckte später wegweisende Namen der Neuen Musik wie Schönberg\, Bartok\, Ligeti\, schätzt zudem die Flexibilität und Improvisationskultur des Jazz und hört auch gerne zeitgenössischen Pop: Tryon Mills stammt aus dem eklektischen Kellen Seattle und lebt seit einigen Jahren in Berlin\, spielt Bass und Synthesizer. Für das fulminante aktuelle Album „Läuterung“ hat er sich eine große Formation ausgesucht\, deren Mitglieder der genreübergreifenden Tendenz des Leaders (der auch alle Kompositionen geschaffen hat) mehr als gerecht werden. Ein Klangrätsel mit permanentem Überraschungsanspruch\, mit obligatorischen Stimmungs- und Tempowechseln. Eine große Auswahl an Instrumenten (Bass\, Schlagzeug\, Gitarre\, Keyboards\, Blasinstrumente\, Klavier\, Vibraphon und mehr) sorgen für reiche Farbgebung.”\nBadisches Zeitung \n“Jazzrock und rockige Klänge und Rhythmen können sich irgendwann in Jazz-Avantgarde oder emotionale und sogar zarte Statements verwandeln.
