Die besondere Besetzung mit zwei Posaunen prägt den Klang der Band maßgeblich. Die Nähe der Posaune zur menschlichen Stimme und die emotionalen Nuancen\, die daraus erwachsen\, geben der Musik eine berührende Tiefe. \nSauerborns Kompositionen sind explizit für dieses Ensemble geschrieben. Sie entspringen meist einer intuitiven Melodie\, aus der sich ein harmonischer und rhythmischer Kontext entfaltet\, in dem sich individuelle Strukturen zu einer dynamischen Ganzheit verweben. So entsteht eine Musik\, die gleichermaßen Raum für erzählerischen Ausdruck wie für spielerische Freiheit eröffnet: ein Dialog zwischen Individualität und Kollektiv. \nSauerborn\, NICA artist 2024\, ist bekannt für seine Arbeit mit Bands wie Das Ende der Liebe (deren jüngstes Album PERSIST mit der chinesischen Performance-Künstlerin su dance110 2025 den Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik erhielt und deren Vorgängeralbum SCHNEE* vom Magazin GROOVE unter die Top 20 Alben 2022 gewählt wurde)\, dem pan-europäischen Improvisationskollektiv Mount Meander (u.a. auf Cleanfeed) oder dem Trio Pollon (nominiert für den Deutschen Jazzpreis 2023). The unique instrumentation\, featuring two trombones\, has a decisive influence on the band’s sound. The trombone’s proximity to the human voice and the emotional nuances that arise from this give the music a touching depth. \nSauerborn’s compositions are written explicitly for this ensemble. They usually spring from an intuitive melody\, from which a harmonic and rhythmic context unfolds\, in which individual structures are woven into a dynamic whole. The result is music that opens up space for both narrative expression and playful freedom: a dialogue between individuality and collectivity. \nSauerborn\, NICA artist 2024\, is known for his work with bands such as Das Ende der Liebe (whose latest album PERSIST with Chinese performance artist su dance110 won the German Record Critics’ Award in 2025 and whose previous album SCHNEE* was voted one of the top 20 albums of 2022 by GROOVE magazine)\, the pan European improvisation collective Mount Meander (on Cleanfeed\, among others) and the trio Pollon (nominated for the German Jazz Prize 2023).
