Seit der Gründung in Köln verbindet die Gruppe lateinamerikanische musikalische Traditionen mit zeitgenössischem Jazz\, Improvisation und europäischen Einflüssen. \nSurensemble versteht sich als musikalischer Raum\, in dem unterschiedliche Klangsprachen aufeinandertreffen und sich ständig weiterentwickeln. Der Name verweist dabei auf die südamerikanischen Wurzeln des Projekts und zugleich auf den Gedanken des Ensembles als offene\, wandelbare Formation. \nIn zehn Jahren sind drei Alben entstanden: Surensemble\, Inmanencia (2022 live im LOFT aufgenommen) und Stay Together (2024). Die drei Produktionen dokumentieren unterschiedliche Phasen der musikalischen Entwicklung des Ensembles\, von der Verbindung aus Jazz und lateinamerikanischer Musik bis hin zu elektronischen Klangflächen\, Arrangements und freien improvisatorischen Passagen. \nZum zehnjährigen Bestehen präsentiert Surensemble an diesem Abend ein besonderes Jubiläumskonzert. Auf dem Programm stehen zentrale Kompositionen aus den drei Alben sowie neue Stücke\, die den aktuellen Klang des Ensembles zeigen. Since its founding in Cologne\, the group has been blending Latin American musical traditions with contemporary jazz\, improvisation\, and European influences. \nSurensemble sees itself as a musical space where different sonic languages converge and are constantly evolving. The name refers both to the project’s South American roots and to the ensemble’s concept as an open\, adaptable formation. \nOver the course of ten years\, the ensemble has released three albums: Surensemble\, Inmanencia (recorded live at LOFT in 2022)\, and Stay Together (2024). These three recordings document different phases of the ensemble’s musical development\, ranging from a fusion of jazz and Latin American music to electronic soundscapes\, arrangements\, and free improvisational passages. \nTo mark its tenth anniversary\, Surensemble will present a special anniversary concert this evening.
