Bekannt unter anderem durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Musikern der britischen Szene wie z.B. Paul Dunmall oder John Edwards ist er einer der wichtigen zeitgenössischen Saxofonisten\, der sich durch einen ebenso eigenwilligen wie eigenständigen Stil auszeichnet. Dieter Manderscheid ist einer der gefragtesten europäischen Bassisten\, vielseitig\, elegant und virtuos. Der große Ekkehard Jost sagte schon über ihn\, dass sein Spiel süchtig mache. Mit dem Schlagzeuger Martin Blume spielt er seit vielen Jahren in diversen Formationen mit traumwandlerischer Sicherheit zusammen. Known among other things for his collaborations with musicians of the British scene such as Paul Dunmall or John Edwards\, he is one of the important contemporary saxophonists who distinguishes himself by a style that is as idiosyncratic as it is independent. Dieter Manderscheid is one of the most sought-after European bassists\, versatile\, elegant and virtuosic. The great Ekkehard Jost already said about him that his playing was addictive. He has been playing together with drummer Martin Blume in various formations for many years with somnambulistic certainty.
