DESCRIPTION:Sebastian Sternal – piano\nSebastian Klose – bass\nAxel Pape – drums \n\nDer Pianist Sebastian Sternal ist Träger des WDR Jazzpreises 2007. Er hat in Köln und Paris studiert und bereits mit Jazzgrößen wie John Ruocco\, David Binney oder Dee Dee Bridgewater zusammengearbeitet. Heute Abend stellt er die gerade erschienene Debüt-CD seines Trios vor: „Sebastian Sternal Trio – Eins“ (Double Moon/Sunny Moon). \nJohn Taylor schreibt in den Liner Notes:\n„His skilled command of the piano is displayed throughout the recording which is full of rich harmonies and compelling melodies. The arrangements are superb and the sensitive support and creativity of his trio partners combine to make this a very impressive debut.” \nDas „Sebastian Sternal Trio“ spielt Jazz-Musik\, die von europäischer Klassik ebenso geprägt ist wie von der lebendigen Kraft folkloristischer Musik. Doch die atmosphärische Dichte der Stücke und die eingängige Melodik lassen auch oft an Filmmusik denken. So haben nicht nur Miles Davis\, Brad Mehldau oder Claude Debussy die Musik des Trios beeinflusst\, sondern auch Filmkomponist John Williams („E.T.“\, „Jurassic Parc“)\, den Sternal schon persönlich treffen durfte.
