Er veröffentlichte über ein dutzend Alben als Leader/Co-Leader und zahlreiche als Sideman. \nIm Juni 2021 erhielt er den erstmalig ausgelobten und von der Bundesregierung initiierten Deutschen Jazzpreis in der Kategorie Gitarre. \nhttps://ronnygraupe.com \nSeit Ende 2019 arbeitet Ronny mit seinem neuen Quartett Off The Record. \nIm Frühjahr 2022 wird das erste Album The Call auf Ronnys eigenem Label Out Of The Shed erscheinen.\nWie in anderen festen Ensembles Graupes sind die Kompositionen speziell für dieses Ensemble und für dieses Album konzipiert worden\, welches aus zwei längere Suiten und einem Intermission-Stück dazwischen besteht. \nDas Quartett Off The Record widmet sich hier auf musikalische Weise der Frage der Existenz und vollbringt dies zum einen als kohärenter Klangkörper\, zum anderen individuell auf jeden Mitspieler bezogen.\nDie Kompositionen sind durch intensive Pobephasen geformt worden und es dauerte ca. 1 1/2 Jahre\, bevor die musikalische Arbeit im Studio festgehalten wurde. \n\nRonny Graupe – Gitarre\nDominik Bukowski – Vibraphon\nPhil Donkin – Kontrabass\nOli Steidle – Schlagzeug \nPlease read our infos concerning concerts with an audience during the Corona pandemic here. Information about prices\, ticket reservations and our opening times can be found here. \n\nRonny Graupe has been heard nationally and worldwide since the mid-90s and is an integral part of the vibrant Berlin scene.\nIn many years of working with the trio Gropper/Graupe/Lillinger\, as well as in his\, first in trio\, since 2018 in quartet appearing ensemble Ronny Graupes Spoom\, he developed his own language on the guitar and as a composer. He released over a dozen albums as a leader/co-leader and numerous as a sideman. \nIn June 2021 he received the first-ever German Jazz Award\, initiated by the German government\, in the guitar category. \nhttps://ronnygraupe.com \nSince the end of 2019\, Ronny has been working with his new quartet Off The Record. \nIn spring 2022\, the first album The Call will be released on Ronny’s own label Out Of The Shed.\nAs in other permanent ensembles Graupes\, the compositions have been designed specifically for this ensemble and for this album\, which consists of two longer suites and an Intermission – piece in between.\nAs one can already guess from the names of the pieces\, it is about the confrontation with existence. To find the right way and to go it has been connected with countless obstacles since ancient times. The complicated times in which we currently live do not exactly contribute to simplifying this.\nTherefore it is all the more important to face the above-mentioned confrontation with existence\, and on the other hand to continue to do this\, even if it should take 10000 years\, undeterred.\nThe quartet Off The Record dedicates itself here in a musical way to the question of existence and accomplishes this on the one hand as a coherent body of sound\, on the other hand individually related to each member.\nThe compositions have been formed through intensive pobe phases and it took about 1 1/2 years before the musical work was recorded in the studio.
