Sideman bei mehr als 60 CD – Einspielungen mit und hat sich als international gefragter Pianist einen Namen in der Jazzszene gemacht. Bereits in jungen Jahren wurde er mit diversen Preisen ausgezeichnet (z.B. Jazzpreis der „Nürnberger Nachrichten“\, Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis\, Preis für den besten Solisten bei den internationalen Jazzwettbewerben im Jahre 2002 in Hoeilaart/Belgien und 2005 in Getxo/Spanien\, 2003 und 2007 Vierteljahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik\, 2007 den 1. Preis beim internationalen Piano Solo Wettbewerb in Freiburg und 2010\nLandesjazzpreis Baden-Württemberg). Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Pianist unterrichtet er ausserdem als Professor für Jazzklavier und Ensembleleitung an der Hochschule für Musik in Nürnberg und Mannheim. \nSeine Musik bewegt sich stilistisch im Bereich Modern Jazz\, ist aber gleichzeitig geprägt durch Einflüsse verschiedener anderer musikalischer Stilrichtungen der Moderne. Mit dem Berliner Saxofonisten Wanja Slavin und Drummer Peter Gall\, sowie den Freiburger Bassisten Arne Huber fand er drei Mitmusiker\, die seiner Musik zu einer besonders großen Ausdruckskraft verhelfen. Sie fungieren jedoch nicht nur als Begleiter. Jedes Bandmitglied nutzt solistische Freiräume und fügt sich bestens in den individuellen Gruppensound ein\, der von Energie\, Transparenz\, Interaktion und Dynamik geprägt ist. Ihr aktuelles Programm zeichnet sich vor allem durch Expressivität und starke Melodielinien aus. With the Berlin saxophonist Wanja Slavin and drummer Peter Gall\, as well as the Freiburg bassist Arne Huber\, he found three fellow musicians who help his music to achieve a particularly great expressiveness. However\, they do not only act as accompanists. Each band member uses soloistic freedom and fits perfectly into the individual group sound\, which is characterized by energy\, transparency\, interaction and dynamics. Their current program is characterized above all by expressivity and strong melody lines. The emotional content of this music is always in the foreground for the quartet.
