Für das zweite Album auf dem Label Berthold Records nähert er sich mit seiner Band Projektor dem Thema aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven an – und spinnt damit den Kerngedanken des viel beachteten Debütalbums Reflex weiter. Die neun Kompositionen behandeln politische und gesellschaftliche Themen der Gegenwart. Als Grundlage dafür hat Dornbusch mehrere Gespräche mit von Rassismus Betroffenen geführt – und seine Eindrücke daraus sowie einige Zitate in die Musik einfließen lassen.\nCharakteristisch für die fünf Musiker*innen aus Berlin und Köln ist ihre unverwechselbare Sprache und der sehr eigene Umgang mit dem Material\, dem Dornbusch viel Raum lässt. Dabei ist den Musiker*innen wichtig\, keine banale Botschaft zu zementieren. Sie spielen mit Vielschichtigkeiten\, komplexen Klangfarben und gegeneinanderlaufenden Rhythmen. Das\, was schön klingt\, wird konstant chiffriert.. \nAuseinandernehmen und neu Zusammenbauen. Das bezieht sich nicht nur auf Dornbuschs Kompositionen im Probeprozess\, sondern auch auf den Titel: Re|construct ist eben nicht bloße Rekonstruktion – es ist viel mehr. Gemeint ist damit die Transformation\, die Erschaffung von etwas Neuem – stets als gemeinsamer Prozess. For the second album on the Berthold Records label\, he and his band Projektor approach the topic from different perspectives – and in doing so\, continue the core idea of the highly acclaimed debut album Reflex. The nine compositions deal with contemporary political and social issues. Dornbusch conducted several conversations with people affected by racism as a basis for this – and incorporated his impressions from these as well as some quotes into the music.\nThe five musicians from Berlin and Cologne are characterised by their unmistakable language and their very individual approach to the material\, which Dornbusch gives a lot of space to. It is important to the musicians not to cement a banal message. They play with layers\, complex timbres and contrasting rhythms. What sounds beautiful is constantly coded. \nTaking apart and reassembling. This refers not only to Dornbusch’s compositions in the rehearsal process\, but also to the title: Re|construct is not just reconstruction – it is much more. It means transformation\, the creation of something new – always as a joint process.
