Die maßgeblichen Koordinaten sind Jazz und etwas Metal-Avantgarde-artiges\, kaum zu Definierendes. Innerhalb dieser Koordinaten kann dann eigentlich alles passieren\, und wenn die Band von „25 Ideen“ pro Komposition spricht\, ist das noch bescheiden formuliert.\nNach der Internationalen Jazzwoche Burghausen\, dem Herzberg Festival\, vielen weiteren Konzerten und einer Neubesetzung am Bass mit dem jungen Kölner Xaver Feest\, steht nun die Aufnahme des zweiten Albums für PHALANX an. The defining coordinates are jazz and something akin to avant-garde metal\, which is difficult to define. Within these coordinates\, anything can happen\, and when the band talks about “25 ideas” per composition\, that is still a modest estimate.\nAfter the Burghausen International Jazz Week\, the Herzberg Festival\, many other concerts\, and a new bassist\, the young Cologne-based Xaver Feest\, PHALANX is now ready to record its second album. With songs that have already been tried and tested live as well as completely unheard pieces\, the recording session will start with the live recording and then be completed in the studio over the following two days.\nWhat better place for this than the Cologne LOFT?
