In der diesjährigen Ausgabe der Monday Meetings unter dem Motto Coalesce (engl. “zusammenschließen”\, “vereinen”) wird das bestehende Format der Begegnung intensiviert.\n  \n \nEvi (*1993) begann mit 7 Jahren das Schlagzeugspielen. Mit einem Stipendium des Athener Konzerthauses schloss sie das Volos Konservatorium ab und zog 2011 nach Berlin\, wo sie ihr Bachelor- und danach ihr Masterstudium an der Hochschule für Musik Ηanns Eisler jeweils mit Auszeichnung beendete. Nebenbei hatte Evi Jazz-Vibraphon-Unterricht bei Harald Kündgen. \nIhre Berufserfahrungen schließen sowohl die Mitwirkung bei Orchestern und Kammermusik-Ensembles (u.a. Bolshoi Ballet Orchestra\, Ensemble United Berlin) als auch Solo-Auftritte mit klassischer und improvisierter Musik sowie Duo-Kooperationen (ff duet mit Katerina Fotinaki\, blowslap Duo mit dem Saxophonisten Hayden Chisholm) ein. Auch in der Jazz-Szene aktiv\, hat Filippou unter anderem mit Chris Dahlgren\, Arne Braun\, Elias Stemeseder\, Uli Kempendorff und Angelika Niescier zusammengearbeitet. Außerdem ist Evi Teil der Nim Dance Company der österreichischen Choreografin Naima Mazic. Ihre eigene Musik und Arrangements spielt Evi mit ihrem Quintett inEvitable und dem Oktett Evi and the Inevitables. \nAuch Musiktheater macht einen großen Teil ihres künstlerischen Lebens aus (Gründungsmitglied des Opera Lab Berlin Ensembles). In this year’s edition of the Monday Meetings under the motto Coalesce\, the existing format of the encounter will be intensified.\n\nEvi Filippou (*1993) started playing drums at the age of 7. With scholarship from Athens Concert Hall she graduated from Volos Conservatory and moved to Berlin in 2011\, where she continued her Bachelor and then Master studies at the Hochschule für Musik Ηanns Eisler (BA and MA degree with distinction). Along the way\, Evi has taken jazz vibraphone lessons with Harald Kündgen. \nHer professional experience includes participation in orchestras and chamber music ensembles (e.g. Bolshoi Ballet Orchestra\, Ensemble United Berlin) as well as solo performances of classical and improvised music and duo collaborations („ff duet“ with Katerina Fotinaki\, „blowslap“ duo with saxophonist Hayden Chisholm). Also active in the jazz scene\, Filippou has collaborated with Chris Dahlgren\, Arne Braun\, Elias Stemeseder\, Uli Kempendorff\, Angelika Niescier among others. Evi is also part of the Nim Dance Company of the Austrian choreographer Naima Mazic. Evi performs her own music and arrangements with her quintet inEvitable and octet Evi and the Inevitables. \nMusic theater also makes up a large part of her artistic life (founding member of the „Opera Lab Berlin“ ensemble). She participates in numerous music theater productions (including at the Neue Werkstatt of the Staatsoper Berlin\, Rimini Protokoll\, Hauen und Stechen Musiktheater Kollektiv). \nSince 2016 Evi has also been a lecturer in Berlin elementary schools sponsored by Vincentino e.V. – Kultur stärkt Kinder in Berlin. \nConstantly engaged in the coexistence of composition and improvisation\, precision and authentic personal expression\, Evi lives and practices in Berlin. \nhttps://evifilippou.com/
