Die jahrelange Bandarbeit brachte bereits zahlreiche Highlights mit sich\, darunter zwei Alben in Ko-Produktion mit Radio SRF 2 Kultur: Fadenschlag (2021) und Stille Wasser (2023). 2021 wurde LARUS für den ZKB Jazzpreis nominiert. Besondere Konzerte waren z.B. die Eröffnung der Langnau Jazz Nights im Doppelkonzert mit der Mike Stern Band\, Cully Jazz\, Jazz Onze+\, Schlachthof Bremen\, Moods Zürich u.v.m.\nDas gemeinsame Musizieren verstehen Merck\, Knobil und Eichler als eine Reise\, bei der sie Mut\, Abenteuerlust und Risikofreude im Gepäck haben. Die Weggefährten: vielsagende Kompositionen und ereignisreiche Improvisationen. Und so wie Larus\, die Möwe\, die verschiedensten Landschaften  so tragen uns auch Mareille Merck und ihre Band mit ihrer Musik über belebte Strände\, weite Felder oder felsige Küsten. \nÜber das Album Stille Wasser schrieb Manfred Papst in der NZZ: Tatsächlich ist ‘Stille Wasser’ Ein so vielfarbiges wie dichtes Album\, von melodischem Reichtum und gespickt mit überraschenden Wechseln in Tempo und Dynamik. Sie studierte Jazz-Gitarre u.a. bei Wolfgang Muthspiel\, Lionel Loueke\, Frank Möbus und Kalle Kalima in Weimar\, Luzern und in Zürich\, wo sie seit mehreren Jahren lebt.\nNeben ihrem Trio Larus ist sie auch als Solo-Künslterin aktiv: im September 2025 erschien Mareille Mercks Soloalbum Kaleidoskop\, welches sie zusammen mit Nik Bärtsch produzierte. Es folgten zahlreiche Presse-Reaktionen\, darunter die Auszeichnung Platte des Monats im Magazin Gitarre & Bass\, Audiophiles Album des Monats im Magazin Audio Stereoplay sowie 5/5 Sterne im Magazin Jazzthetik.\nMareille engagiert sich im Vorstand des Zürcher Jazzclubs Moods. The surface may be smooth\, but beneath it all\, the waters are rushing.” (Neue Zürcher Zeitung\, January 8\, 2023) \n\nGuitarist and composer Mareille Merck (b. 1996) grew up on the island of Rügen. She studied jazz guitar with Wolfgang Muthspiel\, Lionel Loueke\, Frank Möbus\, and Kalle Kalima in Weimar\, Lucerne\, and Zurich\, where she has lived for several years. \nIn addition to her trio Larus\, she is also active as a solo artist: in September 2025\, Mareille Merck’s solo album Kaleidoskop was released\, which she produced together with Nik Bärtsch.
