Ausnahmsweise stellt er dieses Mal kein ganz neues Programm vor\, sondern ist mit dem TRIO IVOIRE zu Gast\, seinem langjährigen Projekt mit dem afrikanischen Balaphonmeister Aly Keita. 1999 startete dieses Trio mit einer WDR-Produktion im LOFT\, damals mit Steve Argüelles am Schlagzeug. Seit 2013 ist Christian Thomé der Dritte im Bunde des Trios. \nIhre aktuelle CD „Enchanted Forest“ ist ein Ode an den Wald. Sie wurde dieses Jahr bei Intuition veröffentlicht\, im LOFT produziert\, und war auf der Longlist für den Vierteljahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik 04/2020. Dabei wurde das Trio erheblich erweitert mit den Gesangsstimmen von Simin Tander\, Tamara Lukasheva und Amanda Becker\, mit Alexandra Grimal am Tenorsaxophon und Lisa Wulff am Bass. \nAm 3. Januar 2021 im LOFT ist das Trio ganz pur zu hören – mit Stücken aus „Enchanted Forest“ neuen Improvisationen und vielleicht dem ein oder anderen Stück aus dem Repertoire. Das TRIO IVOIRE ist mit seiner einzigartigen Besetzung ein Original geblieben und hat Maßstäbe gesetzt für transkulturelle kreative musikalische Zusammenarbeit.
