Die neue Trio-Exploration des in Köln und Berlin arbeitenden Musikers Matthias Mainz mit dem französischen Gitarristen und Oud-Virtuosen Gregory Dargent und dem türkischen Cellisten Anil Eraslan rückt die Zwischenräume in den Fokus. Klassisches Klaviertrio und Zweite Wiener Schule\, Mikrotonalität und Elektroakustik\, türkische und arabische Kontexte\, transkulturelle und experimentelle improvisierte Musik bilden ein weites Koordinatensystem für subtile individuelle Annäherungen und minimalistische Schwebezustände. Cologne-and-Berlin musician Matthias Mainz’s new trio\, with French guitarist and oud virtuoso Gregory Dargent and Turkish cellist Anil Eraslan\, focuses on the fissures between musical traditions. Classical piano trios\, the Second Viennese School\, microtonality and electroacoustics\, Turkish and Arab history\, and transcultural and experimental improvised music meld to form a system for subtle\, minimalistic individuality. In previous projects\, all three musicians have explored the musical structures and sound possibilities of non-European cultures. Mainz\, Dargent and Eraslan transform a format with closeness to Western chamber music into a category-defying multi-perspective musical stream of reflection and consciousness that flows from idiomatic particles
