SUMMARY:KNYST!
\n“KNYST! is known to deliver extremely intense live shows\, which they really demonstrated at Kongsberg Jazz Festival 2012. This was apparently enough to send the trio on to the finals in the prestigious Jazz Intro contest. Ingvild Bagøien from Radio Revolt in Trondheim writes the following about the concert: „KNYST! opened the show and played half-free compositions with an insane energy and drive …. [they have] a musical expression that is both playful\, unexpected\, calculated\, technical and intuitive at the same time. They played so hard and sometimes so energetic that I just sat there laughing\, while bassist Christian Meaas Svendsen caused flaps of skin to fly across the stage. „ \nFirst and foremost\, KNYST! plays „cooking“ music. Together they create a continuous stream of musical ideas\, and show that composition and improvisation are two sides of the same coin.  „KNYST! is a joy to experience live! It is certainly no coincidence that this band got all the way to the finals of this year’s „Jazz Intro“ contest. Drawing on the vital American jazz of the 60´s\, this trio has developed a powerful and expressive sound. Relatively simple compositional framework provides the musicians with great improvisational freedom. They present a music with high temperature\, brimming with energy and intensity – a music that has great appeal. „ \nTor Dalaker Lund – leader in selection for Kongsberg Jazz Festival.
