Von rücksichtslosen Improvisationen und harten Grooves bis hin zu intimen\, harmonie-reichen Schlafliedern ist KADAWA ständig auf der Suche\, sich und sein Handwerk auf neue Gipfel zu bringen\, der globalen Erwärmung ein Ende zu setzen und den perfekten Ort zwischen Ernst und Humor zu finden .\nDas in Israel entstandene und seit 2014 in New York City ansässige Trio von Gitarrist Tal Yahalom\, Bassist Almog Sharvit und Schlagzeuger Ben Silashi spielt neben Interpretationen der Werke von David Bowie\, Bjork und Ornette Coleman vor allem Eigenkompositionen der drei Band-Mitglieder.\nKADAWA lässt sich von Avant-Jazz\, alternativem Rock und einigen seiner Lieblings- (oder auch verhasstesten) Kino- und Literaturquellen inspirieren und kreiert songartige Instrumental-Kompositionen\, die von Stimmung\, Geschichte und Sound angetrieben werden. Konstante rhythmische Kontrapunkte\, lyrische\, aber unorthodoxe Melodien und ausgefeilte Arrangements sind in eine rohe Ästhetik eingebettet und bilden ein Markenzeichen der Gruppe (neben unbeholfenen Witzen\, langen Bärten und sich zurückziehenden Haarlinien).\nDie Wege der drei israelischen Ureinwohner kreuzten sich zunächst beim „Center for Jazz Studies“ in Tel Aviv als Teil eines kollaborativen BFA-Programmes mit der „New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music“ in New York. Während jeder der drei einen einzigartigen musikalischen Geschmack mit einem völlig anderen Hintergrund hatte\, entdeckten sie schnell einen gemeinsamen künstlerischen Ansatz\, der 2013 in der erste Inkarnation der Band resultierte. Es folgten Auftritten an bekannten Orten im ganzen Land wie z.B. im Levontin 7 und im Beit Haamudim.\nSeither arbeiten die drei engagiert zusammen und zogen nach New York City. Sie absolvierte die New School mit Auszeichnung und erhielt renommierte AICF-Stipendien. Sie leben derzeit in Brooklyn und bespieln regelmäßig Bühne an vielen namhaften Orten in der ganzen Stadt\, zB das Cornelia Street Cafe\, im Nublu\, in der Rockwood Music Hall\, im Barbes\, im Threes Brewing\, im Bowery Electric und vielen anderen.\nKADAWA hat weltweit einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen\, zB in der Schweiz\, Deutschland\, Spanien\, Italien\, den Niederlande\, England\, den USA und Israel\, und tourte auf internationalen Festivals\, darunter das Detroit Jazz Festival\, die Jazzwerkstatt Bern\, die Jazzmeile Thüringen\, Teatro CajaGRANADA\, Bunker Ulmenwall\, Jazzlab\, 23 Robadors\, Palazzo De Simoni und The Zone. Darüber hinaus hat die Band Meisterkurse an einigen der angesehensten Konservatorien in Israel unterrichtet\, darunter „The Center for Jazz Studies“\, „Tel Aviv“\, „Tichon Hadash“\, Herzliya\, „The Jezreel Valley Center for the Arts“ und „Thelma“ Yellin“.\nAm 13. Oktober 2017 veröffentlichte KADAWA sein mit Spannung erwartetes Debütalbum\, das von der New York Times\, All About Jazz\, Nextbop (USA)\, The Vancouver Sun (CA) und JazzFM (UK)\, gefeiert wurde. While each individual possessed a singular musical taste alongside a completely different background\, they quickly discovered a mutual artistic approach\, forming the first incarnation of the band in 2013 and performing throughout the country at well-known venues such as Levontin 7 and Beit Haamudim.\nDedicatedly working together ever since\, the three relocated to NYC\, graduating from the ‘New School’ with honors as well as receiving prestigious ‘AICF’ scholarships.
