Mit erweiterten Möglichkeiten von Schlagzeug\, Becken und Trompete verweben Jessie Cox und Pablo Giw mystisch astronomische Beziehungen der Frequenzen\, Körper und Räume. \n\nJessie Cox ist Assistenzprofessor für Musik an der Harvard University und als Komponist\, Schlagzeuger und Wissenschaftler tätig.\nDer aus der Schweiz stammende Cox\, dessen Wurzeln in Trinidad und Tobago liegen\, komponiert Musik über das Universum und unsere Zukunft darin. Durch avantgardistische Klassik\, experimentellen Jazz und Klangkunst hat er seinen eigenen Stil der musikalischen Science-Fiction entwickelt\, der die Frage aufwirft\, wohin wir als Nächstes gehen.\nCox‘ Musik ist zukunftsweisend. Als engagierter Kollaborateur hat Cox als Komponist und Schlagzeuger mit Ensembles und Institutionen wie dem Sun Ra Arkestra\, dem LA Phil\, dem Klangforum Wien\, dem Ensemble Modern und dem International Contemporary Ensemble zusammengearbeitet; bei Festivals wie dem Lucerne Festival\, MaerzMusik und Opera Omaha.\nSeine erste Monografie Sounds of Black Switzerland: Blackness\, Music\, and Unthought Voices (Duke UP\, 2025) befasst sich damit\, wie das Denken mit Blackness und experimentellen musikalischen Praktiken neue Diskurse eröffnen kann\, beispielsweise die Thematisierung des Lebens der schwarzen Schweizer. \nhttps://www.jessiecoxmusic.com   \nDer Trompeter\, Performer und Improvisationskünstler Pablo Gīw ist in Köln geboren und aufgewachsen.\nZu seinen Werken zählen experimentelle Musik\, Dark Jazz\, Noise und Ambient Music\, Performances in Theater und Tanz sowie Solomusik für Trompete. Die Vielseitigkeit seines Schaffens führte zur Veröffentlichung seines Solo-Debütalbums Never is Always.\nZusammen mit dem multidisziplinären Performer und Tänzer Kelvin Kilonzo gründete er das Performance-Projekt SUM\, das auch als Plattform für Film- und Medienkunst-Kollaborationen dient. Gemeinsam mit dem Medienkünstler Maurits Boettger schufen sie den Film „Dyschronia“\, der 2023 in der Julia Stoschek Foundation Berlin Premiere feierte.\nGīw gründete das ekstatische Noise-Quartett Stellar Banger mit den Musikern Abed Kobeissy\, Ali Hout und Joss Turnbull und veröffentlichte 2021 das Album „Data is“ bei Ruptured Records\, Beirut. The multifaceted nature of his work led to the release of his solo debut album Never is Always.\n With multidisciplinary performer & dancer Kelvin Kilonzo he founded the performance project SUM which is also a platform for film and media art collaborations.
