Die Jazzszene in Deutschland und NRW ist dafür ein gutes Beispiel – sie ändert sich stetig und schlägt immer mehr Brücken in andere Kulturen. \nAfra Mussawisade © Stefan Ditner ; Anette von Eichel © Maya Claussen\nMit der neuen Reihe Jazz im Brückenschlag und diesem besonderen Konzertabend möchte Anette von Eichel gezielt den Dialog suchen. Anette hat dieses Mal den iranisch-stämmigen Perkussionisten Afra Mussawisade zu Gast. \nhttps://afrabeat.com/ \nAfra Mussawisade wurde 1973 in Teheran geboren als Sohn des berühmten Künstlers Shahab Mussawisade. Während seiner Kindheit im Iran war Afra im Hause seiner Familie umgeben von Musiker*innen und Künstler*innen. Afras anfängliche Ausbildung war in der klassischen Percussion Persiens angesiedelt. 1983 emigrierte Afra nach Deutschland. Er studierte am Codarts Conservatorium in Rotterdam Latin American Percussion und ist heute international als gefragter Perkussionist tätig. Für den Abend in Köln hat er seine neue\, großartige internationale Formation mit dem belgischen Pianisten Jozef Dumoulin und dem isländischen Bassisten Gulli Gudmundsson mitgebracht. Ein echtes Highlight! \nUns interessiert an diesem Abend\, wie sich Afra in Deutschland eingelebt hat\, und wie er sich heute in seiner Wahlheimat Köln aufgenommen fühlt – was war (oder ist vielleicht immer noch) fremd? Was ist Afra hier in Deutschland und Köln eigen (geworden)? Was können unsere gemeinsamen Erfahrungen in der Musik und dem Erlebnisraum des Abends entstehen lassen? \nDer Abend hat einen Konzertteil mit Kompositionen von Afra und Anette und einen Gesprächsteil\, in dem Anette Afra interviewen wird. What is my own? Where do I come from and where are we going? How do we find home? These are questions that increasingly occupy us in the world and have always been reflected in art\, music and literature. The jazz scene in Germany and NRW is a good example of this – it is constantly changing and building more and more bridges to other cultures. \nWith the new series Jazz im Brückenschlag and this special concert evening\, Anette von Eichel aims to seek out dialog. This time Anette has the Iranian-born percussionist Afra Mussawisade as a guest. \nhttps://afrabeat.com/ \nAfra Mussawisade was born in Tehran in 1973\, the son of the famous artist Shahab Mussawisade. What has (become) special to Afra here in Germany and Cologne? What can our shared experiences create in the music and the experiential space of the evening? \nThe evening has a concert part with compositions by Afra and Anette and a discussion part in which Anette will interview Afra. Jazz musicians don’t usually talk much during their performances. So it was all the more interesting to listen to the very personal account of their experiences in Germany.
