Nach der ersten Album-Veröffentlichung mit seinem Sextett Cherry Blossom war es ihm ein Anliegen\, Musik für eine kleinere Besetzung zu schreiben\, um so neue Gestaltungsspielräume beim Improvisieren und mehr Intimität im Ensemblespiel zu erlangen. \nDas János Löber Quartett entstand Anfang 2021. Die Zeit des Lockdowns nutze das Ensemble\, um gemeinsam an neuen Kompositionen zu arbeiten und ihren charakteristischen Bandsound zu entwickeln. Information about prices\, ticket reservations and our opening times can be found here. \nBefore moving to Cologne\, trumpeter János Löber was active in the Hamburg jazz scene and played numerous concerts in Germany and abroad with various lineups (such as the BundesJazzOrchester). After his first album release with his sextet Cherry Blossom\, he was interested in writing music for a smaller instrumentation in order to gain new creative freedom in improvising and more intimacy in ensemble playing. \nThe János Löber Quartet was formed in early 2021\, and the ensemble used the lockdown period to work together on new compositions and develop their characteristic band sound. The intensive work of the four musicians culminated in an album recording at the LOFT\, the result of which will be experienced in concert format at the end of this recording session.
