Vom 95-jährige Rollins bekam James Brandon Lewis das grosse Lob: „Wenn ich dir zuhöre\, höre ich Buddha\, höre ich Konfuzius … ich höre den tieferen Sinn des Lebens. Du hältst die Welt im Gleichgewicht.“\nJames Brandon Lewis\, der Sohn einer Mathematikerin und eines Pfarrers aus Buffalo NY\, verbrachte die letzten Jahre auf einer intensiven akademischen\, spirituellen und musikalischen Suche. You keep the world in balance.“\nJames Brandon Lewis\, the son of a mathematician and a minister from Buffalo NY\, has spent the last several years on an intense academic\, spiritual and musical quest. He developed an urgent tenor saxophone sound as well as a lyrical quality that unfolds in both the solos and his compositions – most effectively with his jazz quartet.\nJames Brandon Lewis plays one of his rare solo concerts at the LOFT. \n\nKaja Draksler\, Petter Eldh and Christian Lillinger are among the most innovative and profound musicians to have emerged in the last decade. The trio has received the highest praise from the music press: „Tonal/atonal patterns\, figures and rhythms are interwoven here. This is highly dynamic and highly virtuosic“\, wrote Hans-Jürgen Schaal in Jazzthetik\, and he concludes: ”Currently one of the most important bands in the world„. And Michael Rüsenberg in Jazz City: “Experiencing what is probably the most expressive jazz piano trio in Europe at the moment (and possibly beyond) is a shaking experience.“
