DESCRIPTION:Ein Konzert zum 90. Geburtstag des Konzertschlagzeugers und Hochschullehrers Christoph Caskel findet am 15.01.22 ein Konzert im Loft Köln statt. \nChristoph Caskel wurde seit den 1960er Jahren vor allem durch (Ur-)Aufführungen kammermusikalischer und solistischer Werke der Neuen Musik (z.B. Kontakte und Zyklus für einen Schlagzeuger von Karl-Heinz Stockhausen\, Zusammenarbeit u.a. mit Mauricio Kagel und Hans Werner Henze) bekannt und trat international als Konzertschlagzeuger auf. \nAls Professor für Pauken und Schlagzeug an der Hochschule für Musik Köln war er in Forschung und Lehre tätig. Er blieb der Neuen Musik stets verbunden\, war aber immer offen für unterschiedliche Musikwelten. Daneben widmete er sich auch dem jüngeren Schlagzeug-Nachwuchs und war nach seinem Ruhestand u.a. als Dozent an der Rheinischen Musikschule tätig. Information about prices\, ticket reservations and our opening times can be found here. \nOn the occasion of the 90th birthday of the concert percussionist and university teacher Christoph Caskel\, a concert will be held at the Loft Cologne on 15.01.22. \nChristoph Caskel became known since the 1960s mainly through (premiere) performances of chamber music and solo works of New Music (e.g. Kontakte and Zyklus für einen Schlagzeuger by Karl-Heinz Stockhausen\, collaborations with Mauricio Kagel and Hans Werner Henze\, among others) and performed internationally as a concert percussionist. \nAs a professor of timpani and percussion at the Cologne University of Music\, he was active in research and teaching. He always remained connected to New Music\, but was always open to different musical worlds. In addition\, he also devoted himself to the younger generation of percussionists and\, after his retirement\, was active\, among other things\, as a lecturer at the Rheinische Musikschule. One result of this work is the still current publication Snare Drum … step by step … A drum school for beginners from 8 to 80 years. \nIn honor of Christoph Caskel\, former colleagues and students play composed and improvised music.
