DESCRIPTION:Frank Gratkowski – Saxophon\nHans Lüdemann – Piano & virtuelles Piano\n  \n\n\n(english: see below) \nInformationen zu den Preisen\, Karten-Reservierungen und den Öffnungszeiten finden Sie hier.\nSeit Jahren hat Hans Lüdemann mit seinen Projekten im LOFT das Neue Jahr eingeläutet\, dieses Mal greift er zurück in die Vergangenheit\, da um Weihnachten und Neujahr auch die Zeit der Märchen und der Raunächte ist.\nEs war also einmal ein Duo\, Hänsel & Grätel genannt\, das tat sich nach gemeinsamem Studium in Köln zusammen\, aber schon kurz nach den ersten Konzerten gingen beide getrennte Wege – nach vielen vielen Jahren trifft es sich nun wieder\, um an die gemeinsamen Wurzeln anzuknüpfen und sich gemeinsam ihre Geschichten zu erzählen.\nUnd dass dies im LOFT passiert ist fast selbstverständlich\, liegen doch bei beiden Teile der Wurzeln ihrer zahlreichen (nicht gemeinsamen) Projekten im LOFT\, dessen Geschichte als Konzertort auch fast wie ein Märchen ist.\nHM Müller \n\n\n\nF. Lüdemann © Volker Beushausen\nHans Lüdemann und Frank Gratkowski im Duo Klavier und Saxophon ist Premiere und Revival zugleich: die Verbindung der beiden reicht weit zurück bis zum gemeinsamen Studium an der Kölner Musikhochschule in den 80er Jahren.\nHeute sind sie feste Größen der kreativen Musikszene in Köln\, in Deutschland und darüberhinaus. Beide haben konsequent ihre eigenen künstlerischen Wege verfolgt und sich dabei ihre musikalische Neugier und die Lust am Spiel und an der Improvisation erhalten.\nEs ist jedoch lange her\, dass sie gemeinsam auf der Bühne gestanden haben. Deswegen gibt es viel zu erzählen und viel musikalischen Stoff für die neue Begegnung in dieser intimen Besetzung.  \nhttp://gratkowski.com/ \nhttps://www.hansluedemann.de/ \nFrank Gratkowski und Hans Lüdemann waren in den 80er Jahren beide Studenten an der Kölner Musikhochschule und haben seit den 90ern viele Jahre dort als Hauptfach-Dozenten unterrichtet. Beide sind aus Hamburg nach Köln gekommen\, haben sich aber erst hier kennengelernt. Ende der 80er Jahre gab es eine Zusammenarbeit im legendären „Kölner NANA – Orchester“ und in einem Projekt von Muhal Richard Abrams beim JazzHausFestival\, Anfang der 90er dann auch eine kurze Zusammenarbeit im Duo – als „Hänsel und Grätel“.\nSeither sind die beiden eigene Wege gegangen\, sowohl geographisch als auch musikalisch – Frank Gratkowski haben sie nach Berlin geführt\, Hans Lüdemann in den letzten Jahren lange ins Ausland – nach Philadelphia\, Istanbul und zuletzt nach Rom als Preisträger der Villa Massimo.\nBeide haben eigene Projekte entwickelt und verfolgt und sind dabei immer neugierig und auf der Suche geblieben\nEine Verbindung zwischen den beiden ist bestehen geblieben – auch weil beide schon lange mit dem LOFT verbunden sind.\nEs ist Zeit\, an die gemeinsamen Roots anzuknüpfen und gemeinsam neue Möglichkeiten auszuloten.\nEin wunderbare Art\, das neue Jahr im LOFT zu begrüßen und zu feiern!  \n\n\n\nFrank Gratkowski – saxophone\nHans Lüdemann – piano & virtual piano\nInformation about prices\, ticket reservations and our opening times can be found here. \nFor years Hans Lüdemann has rung in the New Year with his projects at the LOFT\, this time he reaches back into the past\, because around Christmas and New Year is also the time of fairy tales and the Raunächte (Tweltfth Night).\nOnce upon a time there was a duo\, called Hänsel & Grätel\, which formed after having studied together in Cologne\, but shortly after their first concerts they went their separate ways – after many\, many years they are now meeting again to connect to their common roots and to tell their stories together.\nAnd that this happens in the LOFT is almost self-evident\, since both of them have parts of their roots in numerous (not common) projects at the LOFT\, whose history as a concert venue is itself also almost like a fairy tale.\nHM Müller \n\nHans Lüdemann and Frank Gratkowski in the piano and saxophone duo is both a premiere and a revival: the connection between the two goes back a long way to their joint studies at the Cologne Musikhochschule in the 1980s.\nToday\, they are permanent fixtures on the creative music scene in Cologne\, Germany and beyond. Both have consistently pursued their own artistic paths while maintaining their musical curiosity and desire to play and improvise.\nHowever\, it has been a long time since they have been on stage together. That’s why there is a lot to talk about and a lot of musical material for the new encounter in this intimate line-up. \nFrank Gratkowski and Hans Lüdemann were both students at the Cologne Musikhochschule in the 1980s and have taught there for many years since the 1990s as principal lecturers. Both came to Cologne from Hamburg\, but only got to know each other here. At the end of the 80s they worked together in the legendary „Cologne NANA Orchestra“ and in a project by Muhal Richard Abrams at the JazzHausFestival\, and in the early 90s they also worked together briefly as a duo – as „Hänsel und Grätel“.\nSince then\, the two have gone their own ways\, both geographically and musically – Frank Gratkowski took them to Berlin\, Hans Lüdemann abroad for a long time in recent years – to Philadelphia\, Istanbul and most recently to Rome as a prizewinner of the Villa Massimo.\nBoth have developed and pursued their own projects\, always remaining curious and searching\nA connection between the two has remained – also because both have been associated with LOFT for a long time.\nIt’s time to connect to their shared roots and explore new possibilities together.\nA wonderful way to welcome and celebrate the new year at LOFT!
