With a dynamic range\, the two melodic instruments weave a tapestry of sound from rhythmic patterns. \nAoife Ní Bhriain grew up surrounded by Irish folk music in her family\, but she also works in contemporary classical music with various chamber music ensembles. For her\, improvisation is an important means of expression for connecting these different worlds.\n“When I discovered Aoife’s playing\, I was impressed by her incredible virtuosity on the instrument and how she uses it in improvisation\,” says Volkmann.
