September 1991 im Rahmen der Aktion des Ehrenfelder Kunstvereins Tata West das Duo Frank Gratkowski und Paulo Álvares erstmals im LOFT auf\, nachdem die Ausnahme Musiker im selben Jahr unabhängig voneinander den Silbernen und Goldenen Amadeus beim Wettbewerb Musik Kreativ gewonnen und dafür vorher ihre Bewerbungsaufnahmen im LOFT gemacht hatten.\nBeide unterrichten seit langem Improvisation an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln – nach langer Pause trafen sie vor etwas mehr als vier Jahren im LOFT erneut aufeinander\, und schon da war klar: dieses Zusammenkunft muss schnellsten wiederholt werden.\nWir sind gespannt\, was sie sich dieses Mal musikalisch zu erzählen haben! \nhttp://gratkowski.com/ \n\n\n\n\n\nFrank Gratkowski – saxophone\nPaulo Álvares – piano \nFurther information about prices\, ticket reservations and our opening times can be found here.\n\nInitiated by Hans Martin Müller\, the duo Frank Gratkowski and Paulo Álvares performed at the LOFT for the first time on September 14th\, 1991 as part of an event organized by the Ehrenfeld art association Tata West\, after the exceptional musicians had independently won the Silver and Golden Amadeus at the Musik Kreativ competition in the same year and had previously made their application recordings at the LOFT.\nBoth have been teaching improvisation at the Cologne University of Music and Dance for a long time – after many years\, they met again at LOFT just over four years ago\, and it was already clear then: this meeting must be repeated as soon as possible.\nWe can’t wait to see what they have to tell each other musically this time! \n
