Was kann ich dazu beitragen?“ – sind zwei der  zentralen Fragen im musikalischen Dialog zwischen Tabea Kind\, Kontrabass und Paul Walke\, Gitarre. Ihr Repertoire aus melancholischen Eigenkompositionen vervollständigt das Duo durch ihre ständige Bereitschaft mit allen Parametern der Musik zu brechen und aus diesen etwas völlig Neues zu  erschaffen. Es entstehen musikalische Miniaturen\, die eine meditative Atmosphäre erzeugen und persönliche Geschichten erzählen. \nPaul Walke und Tabea Kind lernten sich Anfang 2023 bei ihrer ersten Arbeitsphase des  Bundesjazzorchesters kennen. Schnell war beiden klar\, dass das gemeinsame Bigband Spielen nicht ihr einzige gemeinsame musikalische Nenner ist und fingen an\, auch außerhalb des Orchesters zusammenzuarbeiten\, erst in kleineren Besetzungen und schließlich nur noch im Duo. Dabei rückte zunehmend eine von Minimalismus geprägte musikalische Vision ins Sichtfeld des gemeinsamen Musizierens\, die atmosphärisch-flächige Improvisationen mit persönlichen\, emotional-tiefgreifenden Songs und klassischen Formen\, wie beispielsweise den Blues\, auf einen Nenner bringt.\nIm April 2024 gewannen sie das recording project des 2ndFLOOR e.V. im LOFT\, welcher die Aufnahme des Debutalbums Wellen im Bauch im Sommer 2024 ermöglichte.\nDas Album erscheint am 14.03.2025 auf sts sts records. \nhttps://www.paulwalke.de/ \n\nKateryna Kravchenko & Arthurs Clees © Ralf Dombrowski\nDas aus der ukrainischen Sängerin Kateryna Kravchenko und dem luxemburgischen Vibraphonisten Arthur Clees bestehende Duo ist in Dresden ansässig\, und erforscht erfrischende Ansätze zur Vertonung von Poesie\, Improvisation sowie zur Erkundung vielfältiger Klangwelten durch die einzigartige  Kombination ihrer Instrumente.\nDie beiden Musiker*innen lernten sich an der Hochschule für Musik in Dresden kennen. Ihr gemeinsames Bestreben\, musikalische Klischees und Grenzen zu durchbrechen\, führte sie dazu\, ein breites Spektrum an Genres zu erkunden – von elektroakustischen Projekten bis hin zu Crossover-Kollaborationen mit klassischen Orchestern und Volksmusiker*Innen. Infolgedessen erhielten sie den Grand Prix beim International Jazz Juniors Competition in Krakau\, Polen\, ein und bescherte ihnen Einladungen zu renommierten Festivals wie dem JazzFestBrno in Tschechien und dem Music Meeting Festival in den Niederlanden. What can I contribute?” – are two of the central questions in the musical dialog between Tabea Kind\, double bass\, and Paul Walke\, guitar. The duo completes their repertoire of melancholic original compositions through their constant willingness to break with all the parameters of music and create something completely new from them. The result is musical miniatures that create a meditative atmosphere and tell personal stories. \nPaul Walke and Tabea Kind met at the beginning of 2023 during their first working phase with the Bundesjazzorchester. They quickly realized that playing big band together was not their only common musical denominator and began to work together outside of the orchestra\, first in smaller formations and finally only as a duo. In the process\, a musical vision characterized by minimalism increasingly became the focus of their joint music-making\, which combines atmospheric\, expansive improvisations with personal\, emotionally profound songs and classical forms such as the blues.\nIn April 2024\, they won the recording project of 2ndFLOOR e.V. at the LOFT\, which made it possible to record their debut album Wellen im Bauch in summer 2024.\nThe album will be released on 14.03.2025 on sts sts records. \n\n\n„The unusual and conceptually exciting duo”\n„In the limbo of poetry set to music and improvisational interaction\, they created listening spaces of magical density\, charming\, personal\, virtuosic.“\nLondon Jazz News \n\nThe Dresden-based duo\, consisting of Ukrainian singer Kateryna Kravchenko and Luxembourgish vibraphonist Arthur Clees\, experiments with refreshing approaches to setting poetry to music\, improvising\, and exploring different sound palettes through the unique combination of their instruments. The two musicians met in Germany at the Dresden University of Music. Their shared desire to put away clichés and musical boundaries motivated them to explore a wide spectrum of genres\, ranging from electroacoustic projects to crossover collaborations with classical orchestras and folk musicians. As a result\, they received the Grand Prix at the International Jazz Juniors Competition in Krakow\, Poland\, and were invited to renowned festivals such as JazzFestBrno in the Czech Republic and the Music Meeting Festival in the Netherlands. Their debut album\, which was created in  collaboration with the Berlin producer and saxophonist Wanja Slavin\, will be released in 2025.
