Eine Zufallsbegegnung führt zu diesem energiegeladenen Trio: In der Komposition once upon a time in Santorini treffen Klangkunst auf uralte Volksmusik\, Field-Recordings auf High-Energy-Musik und freie Improvisation. \n\n© Peter Hölscher\nDietmar Bonnen (*1958 in Köln)\, studierte Musik und Kunst in Köln und Düsseldorf. 1981 gründete er das Avantgarde-Rock-Ensemble Fleisch – ein früher Fingerzeig auf eine Karriere\, die sich konsequent jeder Schublade entzieht.\n1991 erschien seine vielbeachtete CD Bonnen spielt\, auf der er erstmals Orgeln und Akustiken verschiedener Kirchen durch popmusikalische Aufnahmetechniken in einem einzigen Stück vereinte – ein Verfahren\, das damals ohne Vorbild war. Neben Werken von Ligeti\, Hindemith\, Ives und Reger enthält die Einspielung zwei Erstaufführungen früher John-Cage-Kompositionen.\nEs folgten Jahrzehnte voller CD-Produktionen in den unterschiedlichsten Genres: Soundscape-Kompositionen wie das einstündige Beijing\, aufgenommen 1993/94 für den WDR\, Neuarrangements von Musik zwischen Frank Zappa und Claudio Monteverdi\, Hildegard von Bingen und Jimi Hendrix. Inzwischen umfasst sein Œuvre über 100 Veröffentlichungen sowie Kompositionsaufträge für Rundfunkanstalten\, Film\, Fernsehen und Theater.\nKonzerte in Europa\, Asien\, Südamerika und vor allem Russland führten zu langjährigen Kollaborationen – unter anderem zur Gründung des Russisch-Deutschen Komponistenquartetts mit Alexei Aigui und Ivan Sokolov aus Moskau sowie Manfred Niehaus aus Köln. Ihre Rundfunkproduktionen wurden international vielfach ausgezeichnet\, und von allen ARD-Anstalten europaweit ausgestrahlt. Zuletzt gewann ihr Hörspiel Memory Garden (Deutschlandfunk / Österreichischer Rundfunk) den 1. Preis beim 9. A chance encounter gives rise to this energetic trio: In the composition Once Upon a Time in Santorini\, sound art meets ancient folk music\, field recordings meet high-energy music\, and free improvisation. \n\nDietmar Bonnen (born in Cologne in 1958) studied music and art in Cologne and Düsseldorf. In 1981\, he founded the avant-garde rock ensemble Fleisch – an early indication of a career that has consistently defied categorization.\nIn 1991\, his highly acclaimed CD Bonnen spielt was released\, on which he combined organs and acoustic instruments from various churches into a single piece for the first time using pop music recording techniques—a method that was unprecedented at the time. In addition to works by Ligeti\, Hindemith\, Ives\, and Reger\, the recording features two world premieres of early John Cage compositions.\nThis was followed by decades of CD productions across a wide variety of genres: soundscape compositions such as the one-hour “Beijing\,” recorded in 1993–94 for WDR\, and new arrangements of music ranging from Frank Zappa to Claudio Monteverdi\, Hildegard von Bingen\, and Jimi Hendrix.
