Gleichzeitig entdeckte er die vielfältigen ästhetischen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten des modernen Jazz und der improvisierten Musik\, machte sich als vitaler Sideman in der Jazzszene einen Namen und arbeitete unter anderem mit Tyshawn Sorey\, Vijay Iyer\, Marc Ribot\, Moor Mother\, Mary Halvorson und Ingrid Laubrock. Spider Season heißt das aktuelle Trio des Bassisten mit Kalia Vandever auf der Posaune und DoYeon Kim auf der koreanischen Wölbbrettzither Gayageum. At the same time\, he discovered the diverse aesthetic expressive possibilities of modern jazz and improvised music\, made a name for himself as a vital sideman in the jazz scene and worked with Tyshawn Sorey\, Vijay Iyer\, Marc Ribot\, Moor Mother\, Mary Halvorson and Ingrid Laubrock\, among others. Spider Season is the name of the bassist’s current trio with Kalia Vandever on trombone and DoYeon Kim on the Korean vaulting zither gayageum. With the means and possibilities of improvisation\, the three of them virtually unbound the tonal space and ad hoc chisel out the smallest particles from condensed sounds in order to assemble them into new forms.
