Der Protagonist des Buches verbringt die Sommer seiner Jugend in Balbec\, wo er über unsere Wahrnehmung von Zeit nachdenkt. Ein Thema\, das Pabst\, der als Künstler wie viele andere eine Periode des Stillstands erlebt hatte\, sehr inspirierte. Das Ergebnis ist ein mitreißendes Program voller beeindruckenden Kompositionen und leidenschaftlichen Improvisationen. Zusammen mit dem Jazz Echo – Preisträger André Nendza am Bass sowie dem niederländischen Schlagzeuger Erik Kooger entdeckt Pabst neue musikalische Horizonte. Gerard Presencer)\, gefolgt von Song of Opposites in großer Besetzung mit Streichern und Bläsern und dem von der internationalen Presse gelobten Trio Album Inner Voice.\nDer Downbeat-Autor Scott Yanow beschrieb Christian Pabst’s Klavierspiel als “verbunden mit den Großen des Jazz\, zugleich originell und persönlich.”\nNeben seiner solistischen Tätigkeit ist Pabst ein begehrter Begleiter und hat sich auch durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern wie Lionel Loueke\, James Cammack\, Lubos Soukup\, etc. einen Namen gemacht.\nAls Arrangeur hat er u.a. für die ARD und das WDR Funkhausorchester gearbeitet. The protagonist of the book spends the summers of his youth in Balbec\, where he reflects on our perception of time. A theme that greatly inspired Pabst\, who as an artist\, like many others\, had experienced a period of standstill. The result is a rousing programme full of impressive compositions and passionate improvisations. Together with Jazz Echo award winner André Nendza on bass and Dutch drummer Erik Kooger\, Pabst discovers new musical horizons.
