SUMMARY:Christian Krischkowsky Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Peter Ehwald – Saxophon\nMarc Schmolling – Piano\nRoland Fidezius – Bass\nChristian Krischkowsky – Schlagzeug & Komposition \n\n(english: see below) \nWeitere Informationen zu den Preisen\, Karten-Reservierungen und den Öffnungszeiten finden Sie hier.\nChristian Krischkowsky Quartet © Nicole Müller\nIm Christian Krischkowsky Quartet geht der Reiz besonderer\, kreativer Ideen mit positivem Band-Spirit zusammen. \nhttps://krischkowsky.de/ \nThe music flows\, everything feels completely natural\, and the quartet of Ulm-based drummer Christian Krischkowsky and his musically strong-charactered Berlin teammates Peter Ehwald (German Jazz Prize 2026)\, Marc Schmolling\, Roland Fidezius moves seemingly effortlessly between composed material and improvisation\, between jazz tradition and modernity. Expressive melodies move over contemporary\, partly hip-hop-inspired rhythmic structures\, but equally edgy swinging influences such as those of Thelonious Monk can also be heard. \nEven though the drummer’s sometimes unconventional\, imaginative compositions and arrangements challenge the listener in various ways\, they never feel contrived. On the contrary: many of them have a strong atmospheric power. There are lyrical moments and playful ones. With compelling dramaturgy and dynamics\, the material is explored in open interplay. \nAfter the two albums Digital Immigrant (nominated for the German Record Critics‘ Award) and The End Of Melancholism \, the four musicians have grown together and matured even further musically.\nWith Discovery Of Lightness (Doubelmoon/Challenge international) they now present their current third album with exciting new music. \n \n\n„…powerful\, clear and convincing. Big deal.“\nHans-Jürgen\, JAZZTHETIK \n„…I’ve never heard anything like this before…always full of inventiveness and dynamics…“\nWolfgang Giese\, MUSIK AN SICH \n„A top-class ensemble that plays well together and can easily compete on an international level.“\nJürgen Schwab\, HR2-KULTUR \n„…this is very successful – a dense and interactive kind of interplay between like-minded musicians\, based on strong themes in the tension between modern jazz tradition and the pursuit of one’s own expression…“\nBernd Noglik\, music journalist \n„… a shimmering conglomerate of bulky compositions like Gshdunga Hodama (…) or bumpy hip-hop-inspired beats like „Football Evolution“ and – as a tribute to the forefather Thelonious Monk – „I Mean You“…\nReinhard Köchl\, JAZZTHING \n„Jazz\, bold\, wild and inspired…“\nUdo Eberl\, SÜDWESTPRESSE
