Sie begann mit acht Jahren klassische Flöte zu spielen und kam mit sechzehn zum Saxophon; nach ihrem Studium am Jazz-Institut Berlin zog sie 2012 für ein Masterstudium an der NYU nach New York. \nhttps://charlottegreve.de/ \nBekannt wurde sie mit ihrem Lisbeth Quartett\, in dessen Zentrum ihr sehr persönlicher Saxophonsound steht\, der zugleich nachdrücklich und elegisch klingt. Zwei ihrer Alben wurden mit dem ECHO Jazz ausgezeichnet\, 2022 erhielt sie beim Deutschen Jazzpreis den Titel „Künstlerin des Jahres“. Ihr genreübergreifendes Großwerk Sediments We Move zählte die New York Times zu den 25 besten Klassik-Tracks des Jahres 2021. She began playing the classical flute at age eight and took up the saxophone at sixteen; after completing her studies at the Jazz-Institut Berlin\, she moved to New York in 2012 to pursue a master’s degree at NYU.\nShe gained recognition with her Lisbeth Quartet\, which centers on her highly personal saxophone sound – at once forceful and elegiac. Two of her albums have won the ECHO Jazz award\, and in 2022 she was named “Artist of the Year” at the German Jazz Prize. Her genre-spanning magnum opus Sediments We Move was named one of the 25 best classical tracks of 2021 by the New York Times.
