Das Quartett richtet seinen Kompass nach der jungen New Yorker Szene\, und nimmt diese Inspirationen in die eigene Musik auf. So sind Vorbilder wie Ambrose Akinmusire und Immanuel Wilkins deutlich in den Kompositionen von BLUFF wiederzufinden. Die vier Musiker verstehen sich blind\, so dass sich die Musik nahezu von selbst gestaltet: von der Melodie ausgehend brechen sie in beachtliche dynamische Bögen aus und finden dennoch stets zur raffinierten Einfachheit des eigenen Musikstils zurück. Dabei strahlt die Band eine Spielfreude auf der Bühne aus\, die auf das Publikum überspringt. \nhttps://www.bluff.band/ \nIn fünf Jahren als feste Formation war BLUFF mehrmals deutschlandweit auf Tour\, und kann unter anderem Auftritte beim Elbjazz– und JazzBaltica-Festival vorweisen sowie die Ensemble-Auszeichnung des Jungen Deutschen Jazzpreises 2022.\nAnfang 2023 folgte ihr Debüt-Album Sleight of Hand. The quartet is oriented towards the young New York scene and incorporates this inspiration into its own music. Role models such as Ambrose Akinmusire and Immanuel Wilkins are clearly reflected in BLUFF’s compositions. The four musicians understand each other so well that the music almost creates itself: starting from the melody\, they break out into remarkable dynamic arcs and yet always find their way back to the refined simplicity of their own musical style.
