So pathetisch der Satz vielleicht klingen mag\, passt er doch sehr gut zu diesem Abend. Der Saxophonist Lorenz Hirsch lädt mit dem Konzert dazu ein\, gemeinsam den Abschluss seines Studiums an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln zu feiern. Den Anlass nutzt er um sein neues Quintett „AKIMARA“ vorzustellen.\nMit dem Projekt folgt der Musiker dem Bedürfnis\, seine ganz persönlichen Hirngespinste und Tagträume zu Musik zu verarbeiten. Ob es sich nun um Erlebtes oder Erdachtes\, um eine bestimmte Emotion oder nur ein abstraktes Bild handelt – lassen sich diese Eindrücke durch die Musik auf die Zuhörenden transportieren?\nTrotz eines vielseitigen Pools an musikalischen Einflüssen ist das Projekt klar im Bereich des zeitgenössischen Jazz beheimatet. Der Sound des Quintetts erinnert dabei an die Bands von Musiker*innen wie Kurt Rosenwinkel oder Chris Cheek. Durch die vielseitige Einsetzbarkeit der verschiedenen Instrumente bietet die Besetzung ein breites Spektrum an klanglichen Schattierungen.\nDie Kompositionen kommen vielseitig daher. Mal sind sie geprägt von eingängigen Melodien\, eingebettet im weichen Mischklang von Gitarre und Saxophon\, im nächsten Moment dominieren schroffe Riffs und pulsierende Grooves aus der Rhythmusgruppe die Musik. With this concert\, saxophonist Lorenz Hirsch invites us to celebrate the completion of his studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. He uses the occasion to present his new quintet „AKIMARA“.\nWith this project\, the musician follows his need to process his very personal fantasies and daydreams into music. Whether it is something experienced or imagined\, a certain emotion or just an abstract image – can these impressions be transported to the listeners through music?\nDespite a diverse pool of musical influences\, the project is clearly at home in the realm of contemporary jazz. The sound of the quintet is reminiscent of the bands of musicians like Kurt Rosenwinkel or Chris Cheek. Due to the versatility of the different instruments\, the line-up offers a wide spectrum of tonal shadings.\nThe compositions are versatile. Sometimes they are characterised by catchy melodies\, embedded in the soft mixed sound of guitar and saxophone\, at the next moment they are dominated by\nriffs and pulsating grooves from the rhythm section dominate the music. Composed structures alternate with sketchy\, open passages to form a structure that allows for a richly detailed musical design and yet always offers enough room for interaction and improvisation of the five band members.
