Ramamani zusammen. \nIn Deutschland wurde Ramamani bekannt durch die Zusammenarbeit des Ensembles Karnataka College of Percussion (KCP) mit Charlie Mariano beim Jazzfest Berlin 1983. Hier präsentierte sie ihre Kompositionen und begeisterte das Publikum mit ihrem virtuosen Gesang und ihren außergewöhnlichen rhythmischen Fähigkeiten. Weitere Stationen waren u.a. Ramamani. \nRamamani became known in Germany through the collaboration between the Karnataka College of Percussion (KCP) ensemble and Charlie Mariano at the 1983 Jazzfest Berlin. There\, she presented her compositions and captivated the audience with her virtuoso vocals and extraordinary rhythmic skills. Other notable appearances included the Moers Festival in 1999\, the Leverkusener Jazztage in 2003\, and the RuhrTriennale in 2007. \nAll the musicians in this tribute project worked personally with Ramamani. \nMusically\, this project focuses on Ramamani’s compositions – including in combination with Western instruments and improvisations\, fully in keeping with her spirit of experimental and innovative interpretations of traditional works. \nIn addition\, the musicians present their own compositions spanning the spectrum of jazz\, electronic\, and world music.
