Swell © Marek Lazarski \, 2000 © André Symann\nIm Jahr 2004 gründete Jan Klare die Band „1000“ – mit Kompositionen von Wagner\, Bach und Monteverdi – und etablierte damit schon früh einen einzigartigen Stil\, der die Kritiker von Anfang an beeindruckte: „Ein durchweg interessantes Quartett\, das sich mit jeder Veröffentlichung weiterentwickelt und besser wird.“ Bruce Lee Gallanter\, Downtown Music Gallery \nhttp://www.janklare.de/projects/\n\nFür das Jahr 2022 ist nun geplant\, auf hohem Niveau tiefer in die Beziehung zwischen dem amerikanischen und dem europäischen Jazz einzutauchen. „3000“ ist neben dem holländischen Bassisten Wilbert de Joode\, welcher eng mit dem so genannten holländischen Swing verbunden ist\, mit zwei prominenten amerikanischen Musikern besetzt: Steve Swell spielte mit Buddy Rich und Lionel Hampton\, Michael Vatcher mit John Zorn\, neben vielen anderen. Swells Arbeit konzentriert sich auf eine kompositorische Sprache\, die sich aus seiner langjährigen Arbeit als Improvisator speist. Er ist eine Hauptfigur des Avantgarde-Jazz und wurde von einigen der größten Improvisatoren wie William Parker\, Peter Brötzmann\, Ken Vandermark oder Paal Nillsen-Love für ihre Bands ausgewählt. \n3000 arbeitet an neuen Stücken\, entwickelt Form und Struktur durch Improvisationen und „verdreht“ Kompositionen auf der Stelle zu einem flüssigen Spiel.\n3000 betrachtet die Melodie als eine der allerersten kulturellen Errungenschaften überhaupt. („consistently interesting quartet that keeps evolving and getting better with each release.“ Bruce Lee Gallanter\, Downtown Music Gallery).\nNow\, for 2022\, there is a plan to dive deeper into the relationship of the fields of American and European Jazz on a high level\, since “3000” contains two prominent American musicians (Steve Swell played with Buddy Rich and Lionel Hampton\, Michael Vatcher with John Zorn\, next to many others) alongside with Dutch bassist Wilbert de Joode\, who is closely associated with the so-called Dutch swing.\nSwells work has focussed on a compositional language that nourishes from his work as an improviser for many years. He is a main figure in avantgarde jazz\, being picked by some of the greatest improvisers like William Parker\, Peter Brötzmann\, Ken Vandermark or Paal Nillsen-Love for their bands. \n3000 will work on new pieces\, developing form and structure through improvising and “twisting” compositions on the spot into fluid playing.\n3000 looks at melody as one of the very first cultural achievements ever. Therefore they will try interpretations of some of the first notated melodies.
