HΞLIX nennt sich die Umsetzung dieses faszinierenden – non linearen – Musik-Konzepts\, das der Kölner Musiker Sebastian Gramss seit Anfang 2022 erforscht und seitdem mit zahlreichen Musiker*innen realisiert hat. \n\n\nhttps://sebastiangramss.de/ \nIn HELIX Spiralen überlagern sich anschwellende und verblassende rhythmische Ströme und erzeugen den Eindruck einer kontinuierlichen Beschleunigung oder Verlangsamung. Alle klanglichen Ereignisse verschmelzen zu multiplen Accelerandi und Ritardandi.\nDieses weltweit neuartige Temposystem mit seinen faszinierenden Klangverdichtungen und Entschleunigungen wird mittlerweile von unterschiedlichen Ensembles umgesetzt. \n\n\nDas HΞLIX Festival vom 3. – 7. Juni 2025 in Köln präsentiert erstmals einige dieser außergewöhnlichen Projekte. \nNeben Performances von hochkarätigen Ensembles wie SLOWFOX 4\, BASSMASSE\, ORBIT\, SWIFT und COILim LOFT (mit Musiker*Innen wie Hayden Chisholm\, Julia Sanjurjo\, Paulo Alvarez\, Dodo Kis\, Robert Landfermann\, Enyalos Papadopoulos\, Dirk Rothbrust\, u.a.) findet auch das Release Konzert von STATES OF PLAY / METEORS neuem Album HΞLIX statt.\nAls Warm up gibt die Premiere des HΞLIX– Dokumentarfilms von Maurice Graf in den Studioräumen von Sebastian Gramss einen tieferen Einblick in das spektakuläre Schaffen des Kölner Komponisten und Konzeptualisten.\nAm gleichen Abend findet anschließend auch die Public Broadcast Session der Sendung Jazzfacts im Deutschlandfunk zum Thema HΞLIX statt. \nAm letzten Tag rundet ein Colloquium / offener Workshop zu den Grundlagen dieser neuen OPEN SOURCE Spiel- und Kompositionstechnik das außergewöhnliche Programm des HΞLIX Festivals ab.  Die Moderation übernimmt Prof. Dr. K. HΞLIX is the name given to the implementation of this fascinating – non-linear – musical concept\, which Cologne-based musician Sebastian Gramss has been researching since the beginning of 2022 and has since realized with numerous musicians.\nIn HΞLIX Spirals\, swelling and fading rhythmic streams overlap and create the impression of a continuous acceleration or deceleration.
